Cagedbirds Productions presents Uncaged Film Festival, featuring short films that affirm the black, queer lived experience. Come enjoy a celebration of black, queer storytelling. Cagedbirds Productions has curated a diverse selection of short films from multiple genres; drama, documentary, animation, musical and international.
Show your support by walking our red carpet. Expect special guests, engaging conversations and an impactful evening of cinema. Food and Drinks will be available.

A story about the people who feed our soul and the recipe that makes us a family. Follow the Joseph family for a year of holidays, weddings, funerals and reunions. Each gathering brings laughter and joy but also... secrets and betrayals. Will the family point fingers at each other or come together like a fist, to strike a blow?

Jonathan and Andre are best friends who have loved 'Waiting to Exhale' since they were kids. Now as black gay men, their appreciation for Terry McMillan’s classic deepens when their adult lives seem to mirror the situations of the woman of the film they love so much. Just like Robin, Gloria, Bernadine, and Savannah, will they both learn to let go of all the things holding them back or will they continue waiting to exhale?
